Daesh Bomb Factory

Daesh bomb factory in Northern IraqI

Daesh bomb factory near Qaraqosh in Northern Iraq. The extremist group departed in a rush as the Iraqi troops closed in during the liberation of the town. I was lucky to gain access to the building after the liberation and before the town was reopened to its citizens. We arrived at the checkpoint, unknown to the Iraqi security forces that I was a photographer, we were allowed access into the city. On our arrival the every street was deserted, no sign of any of the residents. The town was still closed to the natives. Here and there we would happen on a military patrol driving through the streets, fully armed and ready. I was brought to a number of locations including this deserted Daesh bomb factory, up to recently it was used by the extremist group Daesh.

Clearly illustrated in my photographs are the items and materials used to make the barrel bombs and other types of bombs used by Daesh. On the wall is inscribed the instructions on making such explosive devices
